The current behaviour is perfect, so please do not change this - as a extensive
spreadsheet user I am strongly against the proposed behaviour propsed by
comment 0.

Al an alternative, MSO has an option of "adding (the serached result) to the
current selection" and "remove from current selection" which might be what you
want, but anyway please do not change the default behaviour, please!
