Yes.

My hope for 1. would be that if the documentation is clear, it will also be
clear that the current design causes substantial problems for some users.

My hope for 2 would be that it could be implemented, of course. I'm puzzled
that LO is a multi-threaded program, actually. In my experience using LO, it
has caused me massive problems, including lost data, for minuscule benefits
(slightly faster access to changed options or preferences between separate
instances).
