I have no idea which machine you were referring to above, and what "problem"
that persisted.  Is this a 7.1.6 installation that couldn't start before?  If
so, I agree with Timur's comment #6 that this may be a damaged installation.

This is a completely different and unrelated issue.  It has been discussed
extensively in bug 143960.  The old behavior should be more-or-less restored in
7.2.1 release.

Please don't mix different issues in the same bug report.  File a new report if
you want to discuss other issues.
