Super: I can install 
master~2011-11-27_23.13.36_LibO-Dev_OOO350m1_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz 
+ the langpack just in the 'old fashioned parallel' way.
All runs fine.

Great you've found & fixed this.
