Hello @ll,
maybe someone can confirm the following (and try to reproduce it
with MySQL as well):

1. Installed MariaDB server (and ideally a test DB with a table
filled with a couple of addresses)
2. Installed MySQL Connector extension (I used the one from
Alexander. @Alexander: Thanks for your extension :) )
3. Previously created ODB file for your connection with your
installed MariaDB-/MySQL server, which should appear at "Tools –
Options – LibreOfficeDev – Databases"

Now to the test itself:
a. Go to "File – New – Labels"
b. Choose the name of your created ODB file on "Database"
c. Select the table with your addresses on "Table"
d. Select a couple of entries from "Database field" and add it via
arrow symbol to the field "Label text" (I have used "Name",
"Street", "Postal Code" resp. "Zip Code" and "City" in my language)
e. Mark "Sheet" below "Format"
f. Choose "Brand Avery A4" and "C2160 Avery Inkjet Label" (though I
am not sure, if this is really needed)
g. Press "New document"

LO immediately freezes ... :( Interestingly, apart from that, I can
use the MySQL extension without any problem to connect to MariaDB,
create tables, change records and the like ... ;) The same steps
work without any problem with LO Version:
