[Libreoffice-ux-advise] new range name dialog proposal

Good morning Kohei, all!

Quick answer ... walking to my day job experience :-)

I assumed that because also Excel only provides to update one name or range at a time. Thus, it is the same (technically) like the current non-modal / in-dialolg editing proposal. Thus, they e.g. offer a rather quick way of modifying a name (which needs confirmation next to the edit field).

Sorry, have to walk (on) ...

Cheers,
Christoph

Why do you think that Excel (assuming by 'MSO' you mean Excel since we
are talking about spreadsheet) doesn't have such problems? :-)

Given enough data and complex formula network, even Excel will succumb
to its knees. Of course, at present, Excel's formula engine performs
better than Calc's in general, though how much better is still subject
to debate. But it does have the same scalability problem which is
inherent in any spreadsheet programs, or any computer programs that
handle a large amount of data for that matter.

Best,

Kohei
