Well, based on my experience, people know what a template is, so I wouldn't
think there would be much of a problem.
There's really not much difference between presentation templates and slide
templates -- in fact, the function of the dialog is to take templates and
extract Master pages from them, I believe. These Masters can then be
applied to the whole presentation using a less than intuitive "Exchange
background page" checkbox. (This should really become an "Apply to All
Slides" button instead.)

It's certainly less confusing than "Slide Design", which sounds like it
would include slide background (which is in "Page setup") and perhaps
layouts as well.

"Master Page" is a less commonly-known term, and, to be honest, I really
don't like it. (A "template" is a model for creating objects, and that
translates well into computer terms, but a "master" is a person who has
control over someone/thing, and I think that hardly translates into "slide
background + text formatting".) However, it might be a more accurate
description of the feature.
