While the "Formatting (Styles)" toolbar shows a couple of character styles (and
you can add a couple more to it), the main problem is still not solved: there
is no other way to apply/see character styles other than the full style editor.
There is a lack of a control to show/apply character styles as there is for
paragraph styles. See Bug 88512 - TOOLBAR/SIDEBAR: Character style drop down
control uno command
Indeed, the "character style" control that appears under "show more buttons" in
that toolbar is only a placeholder that toggle the paragraph style control
instead.
So, I'm not sure the "worksforme" tag is appropriate here.
