This should not be implemented, for several reasons.

1. The functionality is already there (using clone tool), as explained in
comment 18. The "across documents" should be implemented in bug 53056, and
should not be a reason to implement a duplicating function.
2. The request aims to promote direct formatting use, instead of use of styles
which is the central design element in LibreOffice. While LibreOffice provides
means of working with direct formatting, they should never be promoted before
styles.
