There should also be an option to set the language for the cell via Tools >
Language.

Meanwhile a workaround might be to define two cell styles, one with font
language Spanish and the other for English. Unfortunately you don't see the
cell style in the statusbar, only the page style, but with the
sidebar/Navigator open it shows nicely.
