FWIW, on Windows, there is one. It might not be the most evident, but there is
one.

The following is not the most efficient way to find it (i.e. once you know it
is there, you need less steps), but it is the easiest way I can describe it
(for common users too, not just for expert devs):

1. New Calc document, with formula bar collapsed to its minimum height. At this
point, the mouse tool tip on the arrow to collapse / expand the input box
window says "Expand Formula Bar".
2. Click once on the arrow to expand the collapsed input box window (on the
right side of the formula bar). Without moving the mouse, the tool tip now says
"Collapse Formula Bar", and the input box window is expanded.
3. With the mouse still located (but not pressed) over the same arrow (used in
step 2 above), move the mouse straight down vertically, until it reaches the
handler line located over the "vertical scrolling arrow" located over the
vertical scroll bar. The mouse pointer will change to a vertical slim double
arrow.
4. At this point, click (left) and hold to drag the mouse, either down or up.
5. Release the mouse at the desired point/height.

Note that this works when approaching the handler from the top-down. When
approaching the same handler from the bottom-up, the "click (left) and hold to
drag" action will split the main area window vertically.

IOW, the resulting action depends on whether you approach the handler from the
top-down, or from the bottom-up. The advantage is that it saves the need of 2
separate handlers / space on screen.
