I don't see this as an enhancement request, but rather a regression that
started with 7.4.

Tested with gtk3 VCL:

In 7.3, I can resize by drag and drop however I want.

In 7.4.5 and 7.5.0.3, I can still drag but I have to do it from somewhere below
the edge of the area. There is to much space between the column headers and the
edge of the input area.

Finally, in a recent master build, I can't reduce the size by dragging after
having expanded it, and the edge overlaps with the column headers.
