We discussed the topic in the design meeting.
The proposal is to accept the request despite all the warnings. When completing
the autofill operation, ie. mouse is released, a query dialog should be shown
in case the range spans over hidden cells and to ask the user whether or not to
fill it. This makes the function more versatile and serves as feedback too.
For people who do the same operation repeatedly we could add an option to set
some default. Like "[x] Do Ask Again", and if unchecked we default to either
Yes or No, depending on what is being clicked. Since such an option is
dangerous it could be blocked if the variable is read only in the expert
setting, for instance.
