Have you been able to reproduce the problem using 4.0.2.2 on Mac?
Is it fix using the 4.0.3.1?
(I could only reproduce using Mac -on Intel, I haven't tried on PPC-.
Not on Linux or Windows).

On Monday I can try using LO 4.0.3 RC1, sadly I don't have access to Mac
hardware before.

Is there some bug tracker issue that I could watch?
