Pues te comento un poco ahora que puedo aprovechar la facilidad del
idioma :) Todavía no hemos definido el nombre de la comunidad, pero la
idea es bastante sencilla. Quiero ayudar a preparar a jóvenes que
estudien carreras tecnológicas ( o que no lo hayan hecho pero deseen
aprender) y que ellos sean capaces de participar en proyectos open
source que tengan un impacto real en el mundo.

Para esto estoy contactando con grandes proyectos open source como
ustedes, python, ruby, mediabrainz, git, etc. La idea es ponernos a
disposición de ustedes para poder apoyarlos en lo que se pueda.

Git ya nos ha comentado respecto a un proyecto que ellos consideran que
podría ayudar y es una especie de news donde se centralice la actividad
de los distintos proyectos open source, y se pueda compartir esta
información de forma sencilla. Si ustedes estarían interesados en tener
  un medio más de difusión, pues nosotros estaríamos encantados de
poder ayudar con eso. 

Por otra parte, dado que muchos de los miembros que esperamos ingresen
van a tener nociones de desarrollo de software, queremos que ellos
sientan que son importantes para las comunidades open source, ya sea
con trabajos pequeños de bugs, o implementaciones o incluso con alguna
que otra traducción.

Por el momento estoy apuntando a gente de mi instituto, pero espero que
con un poco de tiempo y dedicación este pueda ser un movimiento de toda
américa latina que ayude a jóvenes a participar en proyectos a lo largo
del mundo y ayude a mejorar el tema tecnológico que al menos en Perú es
algo que nos falta mucho por mejorar. 

El principal beneficio que espero para mi comunidad de todo este apoyo
es el poder decir públicamente que participamos ( aunque sea poco en la
primera etapa) en el desarrollo de un gran proyecto como el suyo que se
encuentra en todo el mundo open source. Esto me va a permitir acercarme
a otras instituciones educativas para poder proponer a los estudiantes
que se unan a la comunidad.

Cualquier tipo de comentario o sugerencia es siempre bienvenido y
espero que podamos encontrar juntos la mejor manera de apoyar al open
source.

Well let me tell you a little bit now that I can take advantage of the
ease of the language :) We have not yet defined the name of the
community, but the idea is quite simple. I want to help prepare young
people who study technological careers (or who have not done so but
wish to learn) and make them to be able to participate in open source
projects that have a real impact on the world.

For this I am contacting with great projects open source like you,
python, ruby, mediabrainz, git, etc. The idea is to put ourselves at
your disposal so that we can support you in what you need.

Git has already commented on a project that they think could help and
is a kind of news where the activity of the various open source
projects is centralized, and this information can be shared in a simple
way. If you would be interested in having a more dissemination medium,
we would be happy to help with that.

On the other hand, since many of the members we expect to enter will
have notions of software development, we want them to feel that they
are important to open source communities, whether with small bugs,
deployments or even with some another translation.

At the moment I am targeting people from my institute, but I hope that
with a little time and dedication this can be a movement of all Latin
America that helps young people participate in projects throughout the
world and help to improve the technological gap between latin america
and the rest of the world (at least in Peru is something that we have
much to improve.)

The main benefit that I hope for my community of all this support is
being able to say publicly that we participate (even if it is little in
the first stage) in the development of a great project like yours that
is found all over the open source world. This will allow me to approach
other educational institutions in order to be able to propose students
to join the community.

Any comments or suggestions are always welcome and I hope we can find
together the best way to support open source.
