Proposal:
Rewarding External Developers
Executive summary
LibreOffice contains external code as well as use external tools for its
build. The aim is to express our gratitude for external developers that
fix upstream bugs in these tools, when the bugs are opened by our
community and when it affects LibreOffice software.
Examples: gcc, Glade, pdfium, ...
Qualification
- Developers not directly involved in LO development
- Not a member of TDF
- Not under contract with TDF
- Not in TDF staff
- Not in Advisory Board companies and organizations staff
- Software not under TDF management
Procedure
1) Developer name is advanced for ESC scrutiny, with explanation of the
external contribution.
2) ESC upvotes or downvotes nominee
Reward
- TDF marketing sends a non-commercial gift to the developer with Thank
You letter. Gifts are same as TDF sells or give in FOSS events:
T-shirts, mugs, pen-drives...
