Doubt regarding handling of postgres in Base connect to an existing database option

In Base, how is the URL of postgres decomposed and used to extract the
necessary information in pw_connection.cxx in the intialize function?(How
exactly is the data stored in the url ? Even a example with just dbname =
test would be appreciated where which class is used to store what and how
it is retrieved and used is mentioned) Also does the ConnectionHelper.cxx
modify the url for postgres in any way ?
