Thanks for working on this!  I actually really like the changes in 6, 7,
and 8.  I've always hated having to dig through that giant makefile.

I don't think I can give it a *real* review since there's a lot of stuff in
there that I don't know but it looks good as far as I can tell.

Did you try and build with MSVC and Android?  I have no idea what your
build setup looks like.
