Miptree is allocated via calloc() so all "level[MAX_TEXTURE_LEVELS]" get
initialised to zero. Like you asked further down, they are only used for
level zero and set by intel_miptree_create_for_dri_image().

This is on my todo list as follow-up work. There are a couple of things that
can be cleaned up even further - this is one of them.
