[Mesa-maintainers] Regression in Mesa 17 on s390x (zSystems)

Hi guys

In case here are some maintainers, which need to build Mesa also for s390x
(=zSystems, which is a 64bit big-endian platform), I just filed a regression
bug on fdo#100613.

Other bigendian platforms may be affected as well. I've found the commit, who
breaks it, but have no fix available other than reverse-applying the
commit. :-(

I've added Roland as author of the commit. He might have an idea, what's wrong
here.
