Yes and no. The hardware still scales things, but our calculation for the
scratch space has to change, which is what wm_threads is for these days.
I omitted this explanation intentionally since Sarah has just written and
submitted a patch (internally only so far) to document this, but it wouldn't
hurt for me to add it to the commit message I suppose.
