I got the two patches that are suppose to patch the Mesa Intel dri driver to be OpenGL-2.1 compliant, although the first one failed to completely work.

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-dev/2013-April/038035.html
patching file src/mesa/drivers/dri/intel/intel_extensions.c
Hunk #1 succeeded at 147 with fuzz 1 (offset -28 lines).
patching file src/mesa/drivers/dri/intel/intel_screen.c
Hunk #1 succeeded at 61 (offset -2 lines).
Hunk #2 FAILED at 77.
Hunk #3 FAILED at 1226.
2 out of 3 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file src/mesa/drivers/dri/intel/intel_screen.c.rej

I am attempting to patch the Mesa 3D library version 8.0.5, and was wondering if the patches were meant for a higher version library.

 Mesa does have the llvmpipe
driver, which provides OpenGL through software
 emulation.
Yes, this should work with your GPU as well,
since it is a software driver, and will run on the
 CPU.
