Hi Aleksander,
I tested your branch with my various modems. They were working properly with and without the ID_MM_HUAWEI_DISABLE_GETPORTMODE udev option.
I did not see the serial timeout errors anymore.
the only issue I had with your branch was build failure when cross compiling it. I'll put the details in your merge request about that.

cool that the setup has been useful for your debugging 🙂
I have 4 other Huawei models (3 of them are E352 variants) and an Alcatel. I will test your branch this afternoon with these modems and give you some feedback.

This branch should solve the issues you had in the E352, please
confirm. Also, if you can test the branch yourself with additional
Huawei devices, it would be nice (please grab debug logs while doing
so just in case).
