that means something is wrong with your build environment (installation
of autoconf, automake and libtool). You can skip this step by building 
directly from a snapshot version:

Unpack the sources, run "./configure" and then "make" (i.e. not
'autoreconf -i -v' needed with the snapshot tarballs).
