To Felix Leimbach: I'm not using EFI.

I just boot on a CD with a linux kernel on it and point the root to the
external firewire drive (that's the only way I've managed to boot linux without
touching the internal drive).
I haven't done anything with Bootcamp or ReFIT, so I suppose that I'm not using
EFI but instead the "BIOS compatibility" ?
