Yeah, you're using the BIOS emulation (as can be seen by the many BIOS related
lines in the syslog you attached).
I use rEFIt to triple boot Linux / OSX / Windows and have gone EFI only.

Our bugs might be the same still because the symptom is quite similar and I
don't think it is related to setting up the card.
Let's see what the devs say, though.
