I agree that I was unclear in that sentence:
* It works fine with nVidia proprietary driver
* If I use the "nomodeset" kernel setting (without nVidia proprietary driver
installed), it only works because VESA driver is used instead of Nouveau.

I'll attach a dmesg with the “drm.debug=0x04” parameter tonight.
