Do you need the whole expressive power of XForms or would something less 
complex such as XMPP forms suffice?

In all the years since I've been heavily involved with XForms generation and 
interpretation (around 2005/06), not much appears to have improved on the 
client side. The Mozilla XForms extension is not included in browser build by 
default, and still not without issues, and the KDE counterpart (kxforms) also 
seems to be dead.
Feel free to prove me wrong :)
