as I understood there from roughly going through the php code.

* subtags of <meta> becomes top level,
* things under <data> entries preserve similar representation
(<personid>user</personid> becomes {'personid':'user'})
* 'data' is always a list/array, and the top level <person>/<activity>
tag are dropped.

am I right / anything else I'm missing?

btw, for those who are interested, my code is here:
https://github.com/kagesenshi/haifu .. doesnt do much right now
besides basic person, person registration and activity stream ..
though architecture wise, i've made it pluggable so that new service
can be hooked easily...

and from that thread, I think I did the json representation wrong ;-)
