Hi Kevin,

You got me inspired so I applied the patch with

"patch src/via_display.c thepatchfile"

(there's probably an easier way but I'm a noob)

and a 

"make"
"sudo service lightdm stop" 
"sudo cp openchrome_drv.* /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers"
sudo reboot

and TADA!   IT WORKS!!!!!!

YAY!
