Hi,

I have quoted the original message at the end, since it may or may not
be related. I know this is not a problem with your current drivers, but
the list seems friendly, so I am hoping for some advice, if not how to
solve the problem, at least where to look for a solution.

I too am having trouble with my integrated graphics, but under Ubuntu
Hoary, not Breezy. however, lspci gives:
0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8378 [KM400] Chipset Host Bridge
So I think it is similar hardware.

I got a new monitor which I want to run at 1920x1200. So I created an
entry in xorg.conf that reads:

Section "Monitor"
	Identifier	"Sony GDM-FW900"
	Option "DPMS"
	HorizSync 30-121
	VertRefresh 48-160
        # 1920x1200 @ 85.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 107.10 kHz; pclk: 282.74 MHz
        Modeline "1920x1200_85.00" 282.74 1920 2072 2280 2640 1200 1201 1204 1260 -HSync +Vsync
EndSection

When I restart X, I do not see the new resolution available; in my
Xorg.0.log file, I see several mentions of the 1920x1200 resolution,
here is the first time it appears, with a little bit of context
included:
(II) VIA(0): ViaOutputsSelect: CRT.
(II) VIA(0): ViaModesAttach
(II) VIA(0): Sony GDM-FW900: Using hsync range of 30.00-121.00 kHz
(II) VIA(0): Sony GDM-FW900: Using vrefresh range of 48.00-160.00 Hz
(II) VIA(0): Clock range: 20.00 to 230.00 MHz
(II) VIA(0): Not using mode "1920x1200_85.00" (bad mode
clock/interlace/doublescan)

Thanks for any suggestions,

Ben
