It may be running with the VESA driver, check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf for the Driver line and if it says "via" it's running the Unichrome driver.

Xorg will sync with openChrome, as I understand it.

The CLE266 has no hardware MPEG4 acceleration, that's only on (some of the) unichrome pro chips, so you'll never get that, but MPEG2 acceleration is already available in the openChrome driver and is bundled in X.org 6.9.
