Your figures seem a little high.
If you have
Option "EnableAGPDMA" in your xorg.conf you shouldn't be using
device.unichrome_cpu_save and you should average around 25% CPU for a
1080i stream, which makes me assume that 1080p should work. Haven't tried
myself, though.
