Right, I've just downloaded current mplayer from cvs (did you follow the "how 
to get mplayer from cvs" instructions and grab libav* from ffmpeg?)
and followed the snapshot instructions verbatim.
and it patched, configured and compiled with no errors.

Please double check what you've done.

I don't know if it works since I don't have a unichrome machine handy.
