 To reproduce: open a many-paged pdf-document in KPDF, press and hold
 Pagedown.  KPDF will draw a big cross over pages it hasn't rendered yet.
 As you're flipping through the document, it doesn't get time to render
 most of the pages and draws a lot of crosses.  These crosses somehow go
 out of bounds: for me they get scratched onto parts of the backgrounds of
 virtual Desktops 2 and 4, but only the rightward downstroke, not the
 leftward.  This is on a KM400.
