Well,

according to my up-to-date Mesa cvs sources, it did not get commited.

Btw. do you think it could influence success with xgl? Some radeon people 
reported that they got the "No screens found" error until they added to 
their /etc/drirc <option name="allow_large_textures" value="1" />, but it did 
not help me without the patch.
