Video scaling artifacts
I've had a mythtv/DVD playback setup working on an SP8000 for some time. The cpu performance is fantastic, with 0-1% cpu usage on DVD playback.
The only problem is that the video scaling shows up some pretty unpleasant scaling artifacts. The only description of proper behaviour seems to be the chipset marketing which claims that scaling and deblocking are handled intelligently.
So, am I seeing the chipset performing at its best?
It really shows up with diagonal jaggies, particularly on noses. very distracting. I have taken to zooming out in xine and then using optical zoom on the projector.
