Hi all!

Finally in Debian unstable a new version of xorg is arrived which brings
a decent via driver (more than 640x480 res).

But now I don't get any dri, strange.

in my xorg.conf file:
Section "DRI"
        Mode 0666
EndSection

modules are loaded:
Module Size Used by
via 40640 1
drm 74068 2 via

X tells me that everything is started (from Xorg.0.log):
...
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/via_drv.so
(II) Module via: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 4.3.99.902, module version = 0.1.33
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8
...
(--) Chipset K8M800 found
...
(II) VIA(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler
(II) VIA(0): [DRI] installation complete
(II) VIA(0): [dri] kernel data initialized.
(II) VIA(0): [drm] Irq handler installed, using IRQ 201.
(II) VIA(0): direct rendering enabled
...

the device has the correct permissions:
$ ls -l /dev/dri/card0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 226, 0 2006-01-05 12:21 /dev/dri/card0

but glxinfo tells me:
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: No

Any idea what I can do to change this?

Best wishes

Norbert
