Hello,
You must recompile a ubuntu package to get this to work:
sudo apt-get install build-essential fakeroot
sudo apt-get source xserver-xorg-driver-via
In directory, from which you executed command you will get a package source
directory.
cd xserver-xorg-driver-via-0.1.33.2/src
pico via_id.c
to the section PM800 add this row:
{"Fujitsu/Siemens Amilo L7310", VIA_PM800, 0x1734, 0x10AB,
VIA_DEVICE_CRT | VIA_DEVICE_LCD},
Save the file and recompile a package.
sudo apt-get build-dep xserver-xorg-driver-via
sudo dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -b
cd ..
sudo dpkg -i xserver-xorg-driver-via_0.1.33.2-0ubuntu4_i386.deb
Now you can restart a X server.
/etc/init.d/kdm restart or
/etc/init.d/gdm restart
Hope this wil help. Also you can edit vid_id.c file from cvs source code.
