how good is more-or-less working on your box?

if I use your patch on SVN 201 I get a crash, some essential log messages:
(II) VIA(0): VIATVDetect
(WW) VIA(0): This device is supposed to have a TV encoder but we are
unable to detect it (support missing?).
(II) VIA(0): ViaOutputsSelect
(II) VIA(0): ViaOutputsSelect: X Configuration: 0x04
(II) VIA(0): ViaOutputsSelect: BIOS Initialised register: 0x07
(WW) VIA(0): Unable to activate TV encoder: no TV encoder present.
(II) VIA(0): ViaOutputsSelect: CRT.

but if I just copy your via_vt162x.h to plain svn, I do get a display on
my TV if I choose 720x576, however, it is not very sharp and some bits
seem to be missing (blue seems OK, but other colors show up as black or
something like that, hmmmm if it's the colors perhaps my cable is the
problem..).

the patch applied fine, but as I said I do get a segfault...
