HI All,
I have a laptop running FreeBSD 6.0. It's a got a S3
Unichrome with the VN800 chipset. I can't get the via
driver to work with X on it. I built X using a freebsd
port and followed the instructions at
http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=Compiling+the+source+code
to add the openchrome via driver and then rebuilt it.
When I start X with the via driver I get the following
error.

Fatal server error:

Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support
at http://wiki.X.Org
for help.
Please also check the log file at
"/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.
I tried to build X11R.6.9 build from scratch using the
sources from X.org and after following the same
instructions at the link below and got a build error
that it cannot find lresolv in xc/programs/xdm. I
opened the Imakefile there and saw that if some
symbols like AIXArchitecure is defined then lresolv
doesn't get included in the libraries that are
linked. Is there some symbol I need to add similar to
AIXArhictecture ?. It's a pentium laotop so it's
FreeBSD on i386.
Thanks,
nayak
