I think I'm almost there. I built and installed the latest cvs checkout from
the above location. No problems except that I had to hack the kernel version
checking again (why does FC have to screw around with this? grrr). According
to the kernel and X logs, everything loads OK. However, glxinfo still says
no direct rendering, and although the general performance isn't as sluggish
as it was with the older drm version, it is quite slow. The mousepointer
movement is also rather jerky. I see from dmesg that the IRQ gets disabled,
which is a known problem according to the list...

I can almost live with the jerky mousepointer, but it seems that DRI isn't
actually _doing_ anything on my system - what am I missing?
