I'm really leery about installing a binary X, because I upgraded to
handbuilt 6.9.0 manually. I'm nervous that someone else's binary will not
play well with a system that is not 100% vanilla FC4.

It would be a very bad thing for me to have to waste another whole weekend
on this machine, I need to get some work done :)

However I'll study that site and see if there is a low-risk path. Thanks.
