[Openchrome-users] DeltaChrome update

Random notes...

Been playing with a deltachrome, haven't actually got a picture yet, unless 
you count a blue random splodge at the top of the screen :) but some 
progress.

Interestingly the deltachrome chip has an integrated HDTV tuner on die:-

  (II) VIA(0): I2C device "I2C bus 3:VT162x" registered at address 0x40.
  (WW) VIA(0): Unknown TV Encoder found at I2C bus 3 40.

There's also a DVI out, but no sign of detecting it yet.

The framebuffer and mmio memory is in a different order:
  (--) PCI:*(1:0:0) S3 Inc. unknown chipset (0x8e00) rev 1,
       Mem @ 0xff580000/19, 0xd0000000/28, BIOS @ 0xff570000/16

getting slow memory timings:
  (--) VIA(0): Timed   MMX2 YUV420 copy... 52637225. Throughput: 31.6 MiB/s.

Also, having problems reading some standard registers:
  (II) VIA(0): Detected MemClk 0
  (WW) VIA(0): Memory size detection failed: using 16MB

Ho hum.

It's particularly amusing that the printed packaging actually states:
  Operating system support: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux.
