The flicking is because you are displaying an interlaced image. If you
aren't watching TV then you either need to adjust the application that's
displaying its output to take interlacing into account, or use a scaled
de-interlaced video mode.

What for? The current fix for this problem is to use a "722" wide mode
until the driver is fixed.
