I have the same problems as this post but i don't understand the
solution in this post.
http://wiki.openchrome.org/pipermail/openchrome-users/2006-July/001472.html

I used the Gentoo installation method wich can be found here:
http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=Compiling+the+source+code+on+Gentoo

when the drivers are compiled i do a <modprobe via> and i get:
WARNING: Error inserting drm
(/lib/modules/2.6.22-gentoo-r1/extra/drm.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
FATAL: Error inserting via
(/lib/modules/2.6.22-gentoo-r1/extra/via.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

lspci gives me:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. UniChrome
Pro IGP (rev 01)

when i look in my dmesg i get:
drm: Unknown symbol unmap_page_from_agp
drm: Unknown symbol flush_agp_cache
drm: Unknown symbol flush_agp_mappings
drm: Unknown symbol map_page_into_agp
via: Unknown symbol drm_open
via: Unknown symbol drm_fasync
via: Unknown symbol drm_fence_handler
via: Unknown symbol drm_poll
via: Unknown symbol drm_sman_cleanup
via: Unknown symbol drm_core_get_reg_ofs
via: Unknown symbol drm_idlelock_take
via: Unknown symbol drm_sman_set_range
via: Unknown symbol drm_calloc
via: Unknown symbol drm_agp_init_ttm
via: Unknown symbol drm_irq_uninstall
via: Unknown symbol drm_sman_takedown
via: Unknown symbol drm_get_dev
etc.

I don't have any modules loaded yet.

I need some help, i don't know what to do now. TIA
