p4m900, assistance requested
I understand the experimental branch contains a basic early version of a driver for this card.  I spent about 2 hours workign with stuff from via-arena, I am disapointed and frustrated beyond belief.

Anyway, I downloaded, compiled, and installed experimental, then tried to startx w/ a proper xorg.conf. The screen is blank, the system is hung, control+alt+backspace fails, alt+fX nothing, have to hard power down.

Gentoo x86
via c7 processor
P4M900 is the number everything gives me is lspci

thats my laptop, the one I am trying this on.

Ona  similar note using framebuffer on boto also gives me a blank screen, so I am using standard vga.

I did at one point have one of the via drivers working for basic 2d, but was not happy overall.

any other info I can give?
