Hi Thomas (and others),

SVN 294 is at least a partial fix.  In the preview window, Lines 
does not scratch outside the borders any more.  In full-screen mode 
things seem good, except that now and then, when the lines hit the 
left border, a mistaken line fragment gets drawn from the top-left.

SVN 294 fully fixes the Kpdf scratching problem, as far as i can 
see.

Hardware is KM400.  The problem does not happen when using the EXA 
acceleration method (with svn 293).

[But EXA has different problems: it "tears" and "shreds" my icons 
when switching virtual desktops.]

The Lines screensaver sometimes seemed to skip lines too.  With svn 
294 this happens a lot less.

On Gentoo it's in the 'kdeartwork-kscreensaver' subpackage, on other 
distros probably in 'kdeartwork', together with many other things.
