Have applied the patch, but the result is still the same: all
desktop icons get shredded.
The effect is sometimes quite spectacular: normally my box comes up
on desktop 4, with a Konsole and a Ksysguard window open. When
then switching to desktop 3 (Ctrl+F3), some 50 horizontal black
lines quickly shred the entire view to bits and then the other
desktop appears. The background is fine, but the icons remain
"shredded" (see attached screen snippets), even if I move them.
When highligting them they are okay, but when the highlight is
removed they are bad again.
This shredding happens in about half a second, and it happens only
upon the first desktop switch. After that dekstop switching is
quicker, but still somewhat slower than with XAA: EXA visibly
swipes from left to right, whereas with XAA I can't even see how
it's done so quick it is -- probably from left to right too, but in
big blocks.
