Not sure if this requirement applies as perhaps it is only needed if using OSes developed in Redmond but I've read that use of the DVI daughterboard requires v1.08 of the BIOS.  

The motherboards do not ship with 1.08 and the latest version posted on the VIA website is 1.07.  My understanding is that some vendors will supply it if you bought the daughter board from them.  (In fact I've seen some resellers explicitly state this.)  I've also read where people contacted VIA and received it.
